Does JobEmber apply to jobs for me?

No. JobEmber is a drafting and tracking tool, not an auto-apply bot. It finds roles, researches employers, and drafts your CV and cover letter — but it never submits an application, sends a message, or contacts an employer on your behalf. You review, edit, and send every application yourself, outside JobEmber.

Will my CV look AI-generated?

That's the problem JobEmber is built to solve. It extracts your writing voice from samples you provide and drafts in it, then an AI-detection agent scores every document 1–100 and flags the specific lines that read as machine-written. The rewriter restructures those lines in your voice — not synonym swaps. You see before and after and approve before export.

What does it cost?

There's no subscription. You prepay a balance and each agent run debits its actual model cost plus a small margin — typically $0.02–$0.10 per CV on Low, $0.10–$0.30 on Medium, $0.30–$1.00 on High. New accounts start with a $1.00 credit, no card required. Full detail on the Pricing page.

Is there a free tier?

Yes. Free lets you run job search, employer research, and AI-detection to see how the pipeline works. Tailored CV/cover-letter generation and voice-profile creation need a paid tier — on Free, your stored templates are returned verbatim rather than tailored.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Your writing samples, voice profile, generated documents, feedback, and help-chat content are never used to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any model — ours or a provider's. Model providers are configured on no-training terms where they offer them.

Which AI providers see my documents?

It depends on your tier. Medium routes sensitive documents (CV, cover letter, voice) to Anthropic only; High keeps the entire pipeline on Anthropic. Low uses DeepSeek and Gemini, which may train on API data — so Low isn't recommended for confidential CVs. The full list of processors, locations, and transfer mechanisms is on the Sub-processors page.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Within 14 days of a deposit you can refund your unused balance to your card — self-service from Plan & Billing, pro-rated by what you've used, up to four lifetime refunds. No retention call. Used balance isn't refundable because the model tokens were already spent. See the Refund Policy.

Do you guarantee I'll get a job or an interview?

No. JobEmber is decision-support for your application materials, not an employment agency or recruiter. We don't guarantee any interview, offer, callback, or job, and we don't verify that job postings or recruiters are genuine. What you send, and to whom, is your call.

How do I delete my data?

One click. Plan & Billing → Danger zone → confirm, and a full cascade erases your profile, templates, documents, matches, and sign-in links (GDPR Article 17). Anonymized proof-of-consent survives because the law requires it, with no link back to you.

What's the Chrome extension for?

It reads an application form on a job site and prefills it from the documents you generated in JobEmber, so you don't retype the same answers. It prefills — you review and submit.

What roles does it work for?

It's built for knowledge-work roles — software engineering, design, product, data, consulting, technical writing, and similar — where a tailored, well-written application matters more than volume.
